Unwind and learn new skills as we explore the creation of a traditional square back case binding to create your own journal.
You'll be guided step-by-step through the entire process, from preparing your materials to completing your finished pieces - no previous stitching experience is required. Along the way, you'll learn how to create a multi-section sewn textblock, cut board for a hardback cover, choose from a range of decorative papers and bookcloth, and finally joining all elements together. You'll also gain an introduction to the technical foundations behind bookbinding, giving you insight into how books of many styles are constructed.
Perfect for beginners and creatives alike, this is a calm, satisfying workshop where you can slow down and get out of your head by working with your hands.
