I'm heading to Toowoomba! Tinker Art Studio is graciously hosting me with my Coptic Stitch Binding Workshop!

Workshop Details:

📅 Date: Saturday, 25th July 2026

⏰ Time: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

📍 Location: Tinker, 3/45 Stephen Street Toowoomba

Unwind and get a little crafty as we explore the ancient artisan craft of Coptic Stitch Binding — a beautiful, centuries-old technique known for its decorative stitching.

In this hands-on workshop you’ll create your own handcrafted notebooks using handmade and recycled papers, decorative threads, and traditional stitching patterns. Along the way, you’ll learn how fold and collate a multi-section textblock, customise your covers from a range of decorative papers and traditional bookcloths, and finally choose your thread for the braided-style coptic stitch to create a lay-flat notebook. You’ll also gain an introduction to the technical foundations behind bookbinding, giving you insight into how books of many styles are constructed.

You’ll be guided step-by-step through the entire process, from preparing your materials to completing your finished pieces - no previous stitching experience is required.

Perfect for beginners and creatives alike, this is a calm, satisfying workshop where you can slow down and get out of your head by working with your hands.
